Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof could be up for a reunion with his former manager Jose Mourinho, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old.
Lindelof's future at Old Trafford appears uncertain after the Swede was the second choice to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane but an injury ravaged season saw United utilizing him on quite several occasions. The former Benfica man is about to enter the final year of his contract and Manchester United are looking to strengthen their central defence this summer, potentially making a profit on Lindelof.
Fenerbahce, where Mourinho was recently appointed head coach has shown interest in Lindelof and is valuing him at 8M€. Jose Murinho signed Lindelof for Manchester United in 2017 from Benfica but was sacked in Lindelof’s second year at the club but the defender has spoken highly of his former manager in the past.
While Lindelof has made over 250 appearances for United, his minutes have depleted in recent seasons where he has fallen behind the pecking order. Fenerbahce, who finished second in the Turkish Süper Lig last season, are hoping to improve their squad under Mourinho and see Lindelof as a potential leader at the heart of its defence.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are reportedly considering offers for Lindelof as they target Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite. Reports also suggest Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt is also on the running alongside Crystal Palace's Guehi and Lille's Yoro after United’s initial bid of £35M plus add-ons was rejected by Everton.
