Leny Yoro is seemingly edging closer to recovering from a foot injury that has kept him sidelined during the start of Manchester United's season. The French defender was forced off in the first half of a 2-1 loss to Arsenal during a pre-season game in late July.

GIVEMESPORT's football correspondent Ben Jacobs has provided an update on Yoro, 18, and its good news for United fans. It seems the France U21 international is looking at returning in December. His first game? Coincidentally, against Mikel Arteta's Gunners.

Jacobs wrote for GIVEMESPORT:

"Leny Yoro is also on his way back from a foot injury. Manchester United won’t rush a return, but the 18-year-old is desperate to be fit and match sharp in time to feature away at Arsenal on December 3. He could be back on the grass in mid- or late-November if recovery and rehabilitation goes to plan."

Leny Yoro eyeing Manchester United competitive debut vs Arsenal

There might not be a bigger game for Yoro to make his competitive debut for Manchester United than against longtime rivals Arsenal. He'd come up against arguably French football's most highly-regarded defender in William Saliba.

Yoro's potential return will comes as a massive boost for Erik ten Hag as he'll give the Dutch coach more options at the back. Matthijs de Ligt has started his United career promisingly while Lisandro Martinez has performed well alongside him.

Red Devils fans will remember where they were when news broke that the club had beaten Real Madrid to Yoro's signature. They reportedly paid an initial £52 million to bring him to Old Trafford and his stock was sky high after a remarkable season at LOSC Lille.

Yoro made 44 appearances across competitions for the Ligue 1 club, helping them keep 20 clean sheets. He also chipped in with three goals and was viewed by officials at Madrid as 'the Kylian Mbappe of defenders'.
