Manchester United will face Real Betis in the second match of their US pre-season tour. The game is scheduled for 19:00 local time on Wednesday, which is 03:00 BST on Thursday in the UK.

United's pre-season has been mixed, with a loss to Rosenborg and a win over Rangers before the narrow 2-1 defeat to Arsenal. Injuries do remain a concern for Manchester United as both Yoro and Hojlund are expected to be sidelined, but the return of key players to the fold who recently joined the tour are positive signs as United prepares for the 2024-25 campaign.

Where to Watch and Follow

Fans can watch the game live on MUTV, with the coverage starting at 02:00 BST. The broadcast includes pre-match build-up and post-match analysis as well. While full match replays will be available on MUTV as well afterward.

Team News

Rasmus Højlund and Leny Yoro, who were injured in the last match against Arsenal, are doubtful for this fixture. However, there’s positive news with Victor Lindelof returning to training and likely to play against Betis. Antony, Christian Eriksen, Harry Maguire, and Scott McTominay, who made their first pre-season appearances against Arsenal, are also expected to feature again.

The Opposition

Real Betis, managed by former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, finished seventh in La Liga last season. They recently played Liverpool, losing narrowly 1-0, and have been performing well in their pre-season matches.

Head to Head

Manchester United and Real Betis have met competitively only once before, in the 2022-2023 UEFA Europa League, where United triumphed 5-1 on aggregate. United also played Betis in a mid-season friendly during the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, losing 1-0 to the Spanish opposition courtesy of a Nabil Fekir goal.

With the pre-season going on, it has been a mix of results for the Manchester club but United have rotated their squad well ahead of an amazing 2024-25 season. The injury crisis at United continues and would be interesting to see how Manchester United navigate it for the rest of the transfer window as they had a horrible injury record last season. Squad depth is something that Erik ten Hag manifested in his last press conference as well and would like to have his best squad for the upcoming season.
