Manchester United has appointed Swedish Coach Andreas Georgson as a new first-team coach, adding to Erik ten Hag's evolving coaching staff for the next season. Georgson, 42, joins from the Norwegian club Lillestrom, where he has been the head coach since January. His experience includes stints at Brentford, Arsenal, and Southampton in England, where he briefly worked under United's current technical director, Jason Wilcox.

Georgson will focus on individual development and set plays, areas where he has specialized throughout his career and an area where United has underperformed throughout the last season. His appointment is part of a significant overhaul of United's coaching team this summer. Earlier, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake joined as first-team assistant managers, replacing Mitchell van der Gaag and Benni McCarthy. Additionally, Jelle ten Rouwelaar has been also brought in as a goalkeeping coach.
