Erik ten Hag hopeful of adding more to Manchester United squad
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is hopeful about strengthening his squad further ahead of another season. After securing an FA Cup victory over Manchester City, which solidified his position at the club, Ten Hag is looking to build on this success. With the confirmation of the club keeping him at the end of their post-season review and extending his contract until 2026, Ten Hag is focusing on the future.
The club has already invested nearly £90 million in new signings, bringing in French defender Leny Yoro and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee. These additions are part of Ten Hag's strategy to address the injury issues that plagued United last season, particularly in the defence. Manchester United has also offloaded many players including Mason Greenwood, Kambwala, and Van de Beek.

"Even more than before, this season will be the survival of the fittest," Ten Hag stated. "The load on the players is so high... we had injuries at the end of the season in the back four and it cost us a lot of points."
Ten Hag emphasized the importance of squad depth to handle the intense demands of the season. "I want the squad as strong as possible. We already made two very good buys... but in the depth, we have to catch up."
As the new season approaches, Ten Hag is hopeful of adding more players, particularly in the full-back and central defence positions. "Our challenge is to do it consistently, that's what we have to work for," he concluded.
