Manchester United has announced the signing of Dutch defender Dominique Janssen from VfL Wolfsburg till the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option for an extra year. Janssen returns to the Women's Super League after a successful stint with Arsenal lasting from 2015 to 2019, where she won the league title, League Cup, and FA Cup.

During her time at Wolfsburg, Janssen continued her success, winning the Frauen Bundesliga title twice and the DFB-Pokal three times. On the international stage, she has earned a staggering 112 caps for the Netherlands and was a key part of the European Championship-winning team in 2017.

Expressing her delight about joining Manchester United, Janssen said, “I’m delighted to be at such a big club like Manchester United. Signing here is a really proud moment for me, and I cannot wait to now return to the English league and create new winning moments with this talented Manchester United team.”

United manager Marc Skinner praised the signing, highlighting Janssen’s experience and winning mentality. “Dominique is a proven winner, both domestically and internationally. Her winning mentality is an important addition to our team, and her notable playing experience will enhance our entire dressing room. We are delighted to welcome Dominique into our Manchester United family.”

Janssen is United's first signing of the summer transfer window, which opened last week and follows the departures of goalkeeper Mary Earps, Lucía García, and captain Katie Zelem. England goalkeeper Earps has since joined Paris Saint-Germain, while García has moved to Liga MX Champions Rayadas de Monterrey in Mexico.
