Manchester United players at the COPA America 2024

Manchester United players, Lisandro Martinez and Garnacho set to represent Argentina at the COPA America 2024 starting June 20th.

The COPA America 2024 is set to start on the 20th of June in the United States of America. The football extravaganza will go on till the 14th of July when the final will be played in Florida. A host of South American stars are set to compete in the near-month-long football competition for the continental bragging rights. Both Brazil and Argentina are the favorites for the tournament.

Manchester United will be providing two of its Argentinian stars to represent the club at the COPA America 2024 as both Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez are set to represent Argentina at the competition. Garnacho had a solid season at Manchester United where he combined with fellow youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund for some scintillating performances with the Red Devils. The Argentinian played 50 of the 52 games with United and scored 10 goals including a goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Lisandro Martinez had a difficult season marred with injuries but returned in time to see action towards the end of the campaign where he lifted the FA Cup against holders Manchester City. Lisandro Martinez looks set to start alongside Romero at the heart of the Argentinian defence while Garnacho is expected to see some action coming from the bench where Angel di Maria is expected to be ahead of him on the right wing. Argentina plays Peru, Canada, and Chile in the group stages which they are expected to top.

Antony and Casemiro missed the final squad for Brazil owing to their lackluster performance with the club where Brazil faces Colombia, Costa Rica, and Paraguay in the group stages.
