Former Man United transfer target Jonathan David is signing for Juventus this summer, which means the Red Devils can officially say goodbye to him.
Man United has one clear zone they want to strengthen this summer: the attack. Understandably so, given their departures, the Red Devils are looking for a completely revamped frontline next season.
Already, Matheus Cunha has been signed. Many anticipate Bryan Mbeumo will be next, as a matter of when, not if. After that, a central striker must be signed, if Man United are to be taken seriously next season.
Sure, Mbeumo can operate as a striker if needed, however, he'll be the first to admit that he needs support.
Jonathan David joins Juventus
Man United fans may remember a certain Jonathan David. He never played at Old Trafford, but there was a point in time where that felt like a certainty. It wasn't to be in the end, as the Canadian striker stayed in France.
Now, Man United fans will watch David set sail for another country. This time, he'll take on Italian football, having signed with Juventus. There is a verbal agreement in place between David and the Old Lady, with contracts to be signed and a medical to be completed soon.
Any Man United fan who still had hopes of signing David can now officially kiss them goodbye.
What's next for Man United?
Watching Jonathan David join Juventus should ignite something in Man United. They need to sign a centre forward, and they can't keep letting these top forwards join other clubs.
Man United are assessing a few different options right now. Last week, Viktor Gyokeres' name was thrown around quite a bit - Needless to say, Man United would welcome his firepower at Old Trafford in a heartbeat.
Other than Gyokeres, Man United may opt for an option closer to home. If they are interested in maintaining their English core, then Ollie Watkins is also a great option.
Aston Villa is building for the future in Watkins' position, so it may be a sign they're preparing for life without him. If this is the case, then Man United would be silly not to explore the possibility of signing the England international.
