Yesterday, it was revealed that Man United wanted Bryan Mbuemo to sign this week, so he could make full pre-season training. As shock factor would have it, he might be joined by Marcus Rashford.
Man United fans don't need to wait much longer to see the Red Devils in action again. This month, they'll take to the Stockholm stage in Sweden to face Leeds United.
Of course, Man United and Leeds have history. The fans may despise each other, but nobody can deny it'll be a breath of fresh air to witness this rivalry make new history with Leeds' recent promotion back to the Premier League.
Man United will rally their troops back up for July 7 to re-commence with pre-season training. By then, Man United hope to add Bryan Mbeumo to the equation, after already signing Matheus Cunha.
Bryan Mbeumo might give Marcus Rashford a final farewell
However, Bryan Mbeumo might not be the biggest surprise to return to Man United training. Indeed, he could be partnered by man he's likely there to replace, Marcus Rashford.
According to a report from the trusted journalist David Ornstein, Marcus Rashford's current plan is to return to pre-season training with Man United for July 7.
Don't get it twisted, Marcus Rashford is still looking to leave Man United this summer. However, since hs prefers a move abroad, Rashford will probably still be around for training commencement.
In his own words, David Ornstein said: "Although a sale would be United’s wish, Rashford is also open to leaving on loan or as part of a swap deal if suitable opportunities arise. His entire career so far has been spent in England, and solutions might come from there before the transfer window closes."
"However, Rashford currently favours a switch overseas and ideally one that would enable the England international to compete for titles. In the meantime, he intends to report with the majority of United’s squad for the start of pre-season training on July 7."
Man United owe Marcus Rashford this opportunity
From Man United's perspective, allowing Rashford to train is the best thing to do. If they prefer a permanent sale, which seems to be the case, then making sure he's fully fit and ready to go makes him more sellable.
Besides, Rashford is a club legend. Fans don't like the way he's leaving, but letting him go on much more amicable terms hurts nobody. After all, Rashford has given a lot to Man United, so the least the club can do is let him return home, even if only temporarily.
Who knows? Rashford might even face Leeds one last time. We'll see, more on that to come.
