Andre Onana's future with Manchester United remains a mystery, but the club may have found a replacement at the FIFA Club World Cup.

According to UOL, United are among the clubs interested in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, who has impressed at the tournament this summer.

John helped Botafogo reach the Round of 16 in the Club World Cup, where he only allowed three goals in four games. John kept a clean sheet in Botafogo's stunning 1-0 victory over Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, who had put four goals past Atletico Madrid only four days earlier.

There have been conflicting reports over Onana's future at Old Trafford. While United have been linked to several top goalkeepers, most notably Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, others have suggested Onana will stay in Manchester this season.

Man United could make a move for John Victor to replace Andre Onana

United need to search for a new goalkeeper. While they have other priorities in attacking positions, Onana has struggled in his two seasons with the club.

Signing Martinez from Villa won't be easy, nor will landing some of the other top goalkeepers linked to United, like FC Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

John is another name to watch.

He is an experienced goalkeeper and showed his ability throughout the Club World Cup. Despite losing a tight game to fellow Brazilian side Palmeiras, Botafogo were tough to score against throughout the competition.

In the 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders, the MLS side dominated the ball with 59.8 percent possession while taking 23 shots (five on target). Despite that, they found the net only once.

There's no doubt that United need to, at the very least, provide competition for Onana as the No. 1 goalkeeper. They have several reported targets, but John would make sense after an impressive performance at the Club World Cup.
