What's going to end up happening with Manchester United and Marcus Rashford this summer? That's what everyone is wondering, as the club is scrambling to get rid of him. The issue here isn't Rashford's willingness to leave and join a new club.

It's no question the massive wages that he's on. Rashford is on his current contract with Manchester United until 2028. Back in July 2023, Rashford signed a new deal with the club, which at the time was widely celebrated - Rashy was coming off the best campaign of his career.

However, he had a falling out with new manager Ruben Amorim and it looks beyond unlikely that he's going to play in a regular season game with the EPL giants again. While some people might be mad with Omar Berrada for failing to get something done, it's not his fault. Nope, the blame surely goes to former United Director John Murtough, who played a massive role in the Rashford extension in '23.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly not open to a pay cut to join a new club

As you've probably seen multiple times this week, Bayern Munich has shown interest in bringing in Rashford on a new deal. However, things are complicated due to how much Rashford is all set to make this season and beyond.

When he put the pen to paper on his new contract with United a couple of years back, he did so knowing he'd be making £325,000 a week. That's a huge amount of money and something that plenty of people thought was way too high from the start.

However, MUFC decided to take care of its homegrown talent, which is now looking like a massive mistake. You can't blame Rashford for standing his ground, though. He has a contract that he signed. Imagine your employer telling you to lower your wages so they could send you to a different company.

You'd say thanks, but no thanks. Rashford's future is up in the air and United has its hands tied a bit. The 27-year-old speedster will report to pre-season training next week, but his stay back with United isn't expected to last long. Berrada and Co. need to figure things out ASAP.
