Manchester United are in dire need of a striker as the injury crisis to Anthony Martial has not only forced coach Erik ten Hag into making his left-winger Marcus Rashford take over the role but also sign 30-year-old Wout Weghorst in the January transfer window.

While Rashford has been in incredible form this season, scoring 25 goals and providing 9 assists in 39 games, the Dutch coach is keen on bringing another goalscorer in the summer, especially with Champions League football next season.

Many big-name targets like Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane, and AS Roma duos Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham, have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Not only are the Red Devils linked with proven strikers but also monitoring promising talents like RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko.

Manchester United eyeing Juventus striker

While the hunt for a new goalscorer continues, Calciomercato.it reports that the Manchester side are ready to pounce on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who joined the Old Lady in 2022 on a four-and-a-half-year contract worth €70 million from Serie A side Fiorentina.

The 23-year-old has been in great form this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists in 23 appearances, attracting many European giants, especially from the Premier League. While Arsenal were strongly linked with the striker before his transfer to the Serie A giants, United are reportedly preparing a move for this summer.

The Turin side recently got 15 points deducted over a financial scandal, and while they will surely appeal the decision, they currently sit 7th on the league table. This could potentially mean that the 36 times Italian Champions could miss out on Champions League football if they fail to finish in the top four. While the option of qualifying by winning the Europa League still exists, failure to do so could mean that the club is forced into selling a few players in the summer with United ready to sign Vlahovic.
