Manchester United will need to strengthen their squad in the summer and as a result, it is not much of a surprise that they have been linked with a number of players in recent times. One area that might end up needing particular attention is their midfield. The middle of the park has been viewed as a weakness for the Red Devils for quite some time now.

On top of that, it is very possible that they might end up losing a number of players there next summer. One of them is Paul Pogba, whose current deal runs out at the end of the season. And then, there are those whose futures are up in the air like Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek.

Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch is someone who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent times as a potential replacement for Pogba. But now, it looks like Bayern Munich could prove to be a hurdle in any move.

As reported by GOAL, Bayern Munich have made a €25 million transfer bid for Gravenberch to move ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign the Ajax star.

Gravenberch is one of the most highly-rated teenagers in world football right now. He broke into the Ajax first-team at the age of 16 and still just 19 years of age, he is already a regular there, having shown his ability in the Eredivisie as well as the Champions League.

Thus, it is not hard to see why Manchester United might be interested in the youngster, who has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in Europe in the future.

Now, it remains to be seen if Bayern Munich are successful in their attempt to sign the Ajax youngster. Earlier rumours had suggested that the Dutch giants wanted a €35 million transfer fee to let him leave.
