Manchester United receive huge update on Bruno Fernandes transfer
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have received a major update on their pursuit of the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.
There has hardly been as much hype over a potential new signing at Manchester United as the latest frenzy about Bruno Fernandes in the last few years. The last player to arrive with so much promise was the ill fated Alexis Sanchez.
Unfortunately the Chilean never failed to make the grade at Old Trafford. For one reason or another he just couldn’t click into gear in a Red Devils shirt.
Bruno Fernandes will of course be determined to avoid the same fate. Initial signs show that there is nothing for him and United fans to worry about.
The Portuguese playmaker seems like the perfect fit for the Red Devils who are in desperate need of a player of his ilk. The Manchester United midfield is short of quality and have often been exposed this season by deep lying opposition defences. Bruno Fernandes seems to be the cure for this affliction.
His creativity and flair have been well noted during his time at Sporting with the midfielder hitting some impressive numbers. 32 goals and 18 assists last season is signs of a very accomplished midfielder. He has followed it up well this season too with 15 goals and 13 assists at the half way mark.
Those are numbers Manchester United are desperately in need of if they are to make the Champions League.
It is why the Red Devils are trying everything they can to secure Bruno Fernandes’ services and it seems United may have finally made a some progress.
According to A Bola via the Daily Mail, Manchester United have made a ‘huge breakthrough’ in the negotiations and the two clubs are now ‘close’ to completing a deal even as early as by the end of Friday.
That will be music to the ears of Manchester United fans. It seems the Red Devils finally have their man and things will be looking bright at Old Trafford once more.
What do you think will United manage to wrap up a deal for Bruno Fernandes?
