Who could wear the Manchester United’s number 10 shirt next?
By Ollie Slack
Scott McTominay
If Manchester United were to give Scott McTominay the number 10 shirt, it would not be the glamorous option. However, it would reaffirm the waning traditions of the club.
Manchester United have included a homegrown player in every first-team squad since 30th October 1937. Although, in the current era of modern football, the likes of the Class of 92 will never be seen again.
Therefore, what better way reinstil the clubs history and beliefs than handing the latest youth product to cut the mustard the iconic jersey.
McTominay has had a terrific first full season at Manchester United. But it could perhaps put too much pressure on him going forward if given such a prestigious number. Besides, it would be too early to judge someone so young and inexperienced.
