Was That Van Gaal’s Last Game at Old Trafford?

The Dutchman was booed at the end of the game in what should be his final match at Old Trafford as United manager.

Van Gaal has spent in the region of £250 million in the last two years and, this season, managed to accrue two points more than David Moyes (and Ryan Giggs) did in 2013/14.

Before the Bournemouth game, Van Gaal said he wanted to pick a strong team for the fans’ sake.

However, in keeping with the way this season has panned out, the first half was truly dire. Only a bright second period stopped the crowd from getting hostile at the end of an underwhelming season.

For Van Gaal, then, that should be that. There have been some high points during the Dutchman’s tenure, but the sheer number of lows means United desperately need change in the form of Jose Mourinho this summer.
