Manchester United were expected to offload plenty of Ruben Amorim's squad this summer but Marcus Rashford is the only departure so far. The English forward has joined Barcelona on loan with a view to a permanent move.
There are several players on the outskirts of Amorim's first team including those in his 'bomb squad. One of those is Alejandro Garnacho whose petulance has forced him towards the exit door and he's banking on a move to Chelsea.
While fans would be relieved to see the back of the Argentine winger that's not the case for one of United's camp who have revived their career in recent seasons. The club ensured to keep hold of him this summer.
Harry Maguire claims Man United turned down inquiries for him

Harry Maguire has become a fan favourite because of his determination to turn things around at Old Trafford. He seemed a certainty to depart in the summer of 2023 but worked hard to bounce back from a difficult period.
The 32-year-old has been a standout performer during the start of Amorim's reign, impressing even as a makeshift forward. His winner against Lyon in the Europa League quarterfinals last season showed he is a man of many trades.
Maguire isn't a certain starter though as this stage of his career and started on the bench in the season-opening 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. But he has suggested that the Red Devils moved to ensure he remained with the club earlier this summer.
He told The Athletic:
“I am almost certain that Man United made it clear this summer that I could not leave under any circumstances. Several clubs inquired, and I think they were quickly told."
Maguire had become a scapegoat at the back end of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign and when the going got tough under Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag. He receievd abhorrent abuse which even included bomb threats.
The England international is the perfect example of a proper professonial whose main goal is to help the team achieve success. It seems Amorim and the club don't want him going anywhere.
Maguire can now act as a mentor

Manchester United have a young squad and Amorim's defence is stacked with youthful yet promising individuals. That includes Leny Yoro, 19, Ayden Heaven, 18, and Patrick Dorgu, 20.
Maguire may be in his thirties and taking on more of a bit-part role but he is a leader who can help the younger generation especially to deal with the scrutiny that comes with being a Premier League player. He knows all about how to silence critics with performances rather than backchat on social media.
The former Leicester City man is still proving to be an inspiration as Fulham's Calvin Bassey called him "unbelievable" in a recent interview. He could come up against the Cottagers' centre-back when the two sides meet this Sunday (August 24) at Craven Cottage.
