When Alejandro Garnacho fired in an impressive opener in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Manchester City in the 2023-24 FA Cup final many thought the real deal had arrived at Old Trafford. Here was a young Argentine with the world at his feet and showing the right ambition to be a success with the club.
As is the case with most, if not, all youngsters, there's a period of being bedded into the first-team. You can believe in your abilities but must understand that the manager calls the shots, even if you feel he's preferring an inferior player.
Garnacho and Ruben Amorim's relationship is beyond repair following the 21-year-old's furious interview after not starting the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. It's alleged that his coach told him he "better pray he finds a new club".
United fans would have been quite sad to see the Argentina international depart in January when initial rumors of a sale ensued. That's largely no longer the case amid his ridiculous behaviour.
Garnacho is acting like a child amid United exit

Garnacho was well within his rights to feel aggreieved about not making Amorim's starting lineup for the Spurs loss in May. The Portuguese went with Mason Mount who has done little to warrant opportunities such as a big cup final.
The former Atletico Madrid academy prospect then spoke of his disappointment in the media. He also hinted at an exit (via BBC Sport):
"Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know"
He added:
"The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards."
Amorim was rightly annoyed by these comments and left him out of the win over Aston Villa on the final day of the season. The Argentine seemed to wave goodbye to fans and hint at his exit this summer.
Garnacho is one of four players who have been omitted from the Reds' pre-season squad. The others include Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony with all four "looking for new clubs", according to the club's website.
Marcus Rashford was also exiled after falling out with Amorim in the winter and he's officially joined Barcelona. The Englishman went about it the right way, saying he had "nothing bad" to say about United.
Garnacho decided to rile up fans and pile in on the controversy surrounding Rashford's switch. He responded to an Instagram post:
"Lets go (salute emojis)"

This should be the final straw for United fans who have his back because he's trying to cause unncessary drama. He is a sublime footballer when at his best but his behaviour screams of immaturity that his next manager will have to deal with.
The comment came just weeks after he was pictured wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Rashford's name on the back. Bare in mind that the Villans are our Premier League rivals.
Where is Garnacho going?
Amorim's comments over Garnacho needing to pray to find a new club currently hold true because there hasn't been much mention of concrete interest. He was heavily linked with Napoli in January but the Italian giants were unable to meet United's ÂŁ60m asking price.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Garnacho wants to stay put in the Premier League and that Chelsea are "attentive to the situation". Unsurprisingly, the Blues were also eyeing him in January but their overhaul of attacking talent may not make him a priority this summer given they are advancing in pursuit of Xavi Simons.
A good idea for United would be to use the wantaway winger in talks with Villa over one or two of their players. We need a new goalkeeper amid Andre Onana's injury and Emiliano Martinez has been linked but Ollie Watkins could be another option to be used in a swap deal given the need for a new number nine.
