Taking His Chances: £19m Manchester United Star Is Certainly Cementing His Spot in Ten Hag’s Strongest 11

Injuries and limited opportunities hindered Manchester United winger Amad Diallo during the 2023-24 season, but as he enters 2024-25, he is now seizing his opportunities and making the most of them.

Since joining Manchester United in 2020 on a £19 million deal (with add-ons that might boost it to £37 million), Amad, who was reportedly a hit in Atalanta's training sessions , is poised to make this his breakout season at United.

The Ivory Coast international, who enjoyed loan spells with Rangers and Sunderland (where he shone), has been anticipating his opportunity at United for the past few years.
Initially, Erik Ten Hag was not receptive to him, and it was only towards the end of last season that he started to take him into account.

Following a strong finish to last season and a strong pre-season, the 22-year-old is gradually establishing himself as United's right winger.
Four games into the season, Amad has started all but one United game. He did not start United's 3-0 loss against Villa, and many believed Ten Hag was mistaken in selecting Garnacho over him.

That said, the consistency of Manchester United's No. 16 has given the team's attack new life. His speed, talents, and ability to find a pass in tight spaces have transformed United's right side, which has suffered for years, into a threat.

The winger's performance in Manchester United's 3-0 victory over Southampton capped his promising start to the new season. In that game, he became the first Manchester United player in a decade to generate six or more chances while maintaining 100% shot accuracy.

With the impact Amad Diallo's performances and goal contributions (a goal and an assist in three league games), it would be ridiculous to bench him at right wing.
