Report: Granada close in on Pellistri loan
Granada are closing in on a loan move for Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Uruguayan has previously been on loan to Spain in 2022, when he joined Deportivo Alaves before they were relegated from Spain’s top division.
Seemingly, an agreement between the two clubs have been reached and Pellistri will join Granada on loan for the remainder of the season. The La Liga outfit currently sit in 19th position, 4 points adrift from safety.
Pellistri also attracted interest from Villarreal, but the struggling side have beat the Yellow Submariners to the signing in hopes of the winger helping salvage their season.
The player has only started one Premier League fixture this season, in a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier in the season. Despite Jadon Sancho and Antony’s omission at different points of the season, Pellistri has barely had a look in this struggling Manchester United side.
He goes up against fellow colleague Hannibal Mejbri (loan) and the recently departed Mateo Mejia, who will pose as the nearest challengers at Sevilla in Granada’s quest to remain in La Liga.
Red Devil Armada’s verdict:
Pellistri will once again head to Spain on a loan deal. His time at Old Trafford has not really kicked on, but a shining time in Granada could give him options in the summer - whether it be away from United or under new INEOS management. Either way, a loan move seems beneficial for the young man at this stage of his frustrating spell at United.
