Manchester United's decision-makers decided it was time to part ways with Aaron Wan Bissaka, who had joined United in 2019 in a £50 million deal. The Englishman is one of the best fullbacks in the world; wingers struggle against him 1v1, easily repelling their attacking threat. However, his main flaw was his lack of impact in the final third.

With a year remaining on his contract, United invited bids for his services, and West Ham answered the call. The London-based club acquired the former Crystal Palace fullback for £15 million.

Exit Wan Bissaka, Enter Mazraoui

When this transfer window arrived, United had the perfect transfer wishlist, with one of the names scribbled on it: Noussair Mazraoui. Bayern viewed the Moroccan fullback, who had played for Ten Hag at Ajax, as a transfer opportunity; the German side was willing to let him go.

Well, Wan Bissaka's departure made way for United to sign the former Ajax player. United and Bayern Munich agreed on a £12.9 million initial fee for the fullback.

Mazraoui made his debut as a Red Devil just two days after his unveiling. He immediately came in and started the job right away. That should have quickly indicated what kind of player he is, considering that he never required additional training sessions.

The Moroccan international appears to have reinvigorated Manchester United's right side, ensuring a well-synchronised defensive and attacking play. Every time you watch him play, you get the impression that he's growing better. In contrast to Wan Bissaka, he is a quality defensive and offensive player.

While some imagined Wan Bissaka's absence would be felt, Mazraoui has left United fans with no regrets. He has been great. That said, he was taken off against Southampton due to some discomfort, but there's nothing to worry about; Ten Hag has stated he did not pick up an injury.
In the end, parting ways with around £13 million, initially, for Noussair Mazraoui could be INEOS' transfer masterstroke.
