Out-of-form Manchester United Star Thrives Internationally, Ten Hag Should Take Note

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes impressed in Portugal's 3-1 victory over Poland as Roberto Martinez's side extended their winning streak in the UEFA Nations League.

In a UEFA Nations League battle between Poland and Portugal, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot's Selecao won 3-1. Although the United duo's national teammates, Bernardo Silva and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were on the scoresheet, impressed in that Nations League win, Fernandes' performance was the highlight for United fans.

The 30-year-old has performed poorly for the Red Devils in recent weeks. His impact on the team's attack has been minimal; he has been wasteful with his passes, frequently losing possession, and failing to provide fans with any optimism. Many believe he needs time on the bench to undergo a reality check, which will hopefully see him find motivation to find his form.

Bruno Isn’t Out of Form

For anyone who watched the Poland versus Portugal game, Fernandes is obviously not out of form. He won 6/8 duels in 90 minutes, took 7 defensive actions, made 4 important passes, generated 2 major chances, and his ball distribution was impressive.

If anything, that man-of-the-match performance gave United fans hope after a terrible start that left them 14th in the league. He could lead their revival if they can get back the Bruno who starred against Poland after the international break.

Some have highlighted that when Fernandes plays for his nation, he's an entirely different player than the one we've seen at United this season. He's having fun without 'Ten Hag ball'; presumably, the Dutchman watched that game and will know how to get the most out of his captain at United.
