Luke Shaw hasn't given Man United much to celebrate in recent years, but his World Cup dream could be Man United's final hope.

Over the last few years, Luke Shaw has been a huge "what if?" story. Whenever he's played, Man United fans have certainly noticed his impact on the pitch, however, the wound which has been felt by his poor injury record has been painstaking.

Now, Man United fans find themselves asking "what if Luke Shaw remained injury-free?" There's no denying that Man United would have a world-class full-back on their hands. Unfortunately, due to his unavailability at large, he doesn't quite make that quota as it stands.

Luke Shaw will have his eyes on the World Cup

Next season, Luke Shaw will be playing with one thing at the back of his mind: playing at the World Cup.

Luke Shaw certainly takes his international pride seriously. While injuries have held him back, Shaw has always enjoyed representing the Three Lions and he even scored the opening goal in the EURO 2020 final, inspiring the nation to get off their feet and believe.

With next year's World Cup set to be played in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Luke Shaw will be eager to be fit and ready for the biggest competition in the sports world. Therefore, he'll take his rehabilitation and fitness seriously.

Man United must support Luke Shaw's dream

While it might seem like a selfish motive (after all, playing for Man United should be motivational enough), this motive still serves in Man United's best interests. Even if Shaw outperforms his expectations and stays fit for a reason external to Man United, it still benefits Man United while he's wearing the jersey.

So, Man United should support Shaw's journey and aspiration of playing in the World Cup. It goes without saying that they'd benefit from his best attempts on the playing field but even more than that, him being an England star helps them with their brand.

We certainly hope Luke Shaw remains fit for the World Cup next summer.
