Jadon Sancho featured in Man United's recent squad list announcement, but that's not the takeaway. Fans are more intrigued about why he wasn't given a number.
Jadon Sancho spent last season out on loan at Chelsea. It wasn't a bad showing for him, as he picked up a Conference League medal after the Blues beat Real Betis in the final.
However, after all that, Sancho returned to Man United. But his stay won't be for long, as Man United seems to have made up their minds on his future. They want to rebuild, and a relationship between United and Sancho doesn't seem feasible.
Jadon Sancho is without a Man United squad number
Man United recently unveiled their squad list for the 2025/26 season, with Jadon Sancho being the main takeaway. Of course, it was weird for fans to see him on there, as you could excuse the casual fan for forgetting he even plays for Man United.
However, his inclusion wasn't the weirdest part. The weirdest part was that he didn't have a squad number. This was pointed out as one of the top comments on Reddit, with the top reply to that asking "who?"
This pretty much tells you everything you need to know about Jadon Sancho and his Man United future, or should we say, lack of future.
Man United's triple threat headache
It remains to be seen where Jadon Sancho ends up next season. As pointed out by SI, Juventus appears to be particularly keen on bringing in Jadon Sancho, but he also has suitors at Napoli.
Sancho isn't alone on Man United's "for sale" list. In fact, he's in quite esteemed company. He's in an identical boat to Antony and Marcus Rashford, who both returned from loan spells for a short period of time too.
For context, Rashford and Antony both featured on the squad list, but unlike Sancho, they both had squad numbers. Still, it's hard to imagine any of the three loan returnees playing for United again.
