It's not often anyone agrees with Jamie Carragher let alone a Manchester United fan but his comments over Ruben Amorim talking his way out of the sack do have merit. That's not to say that the Portuguese coach doesn't have the support of us fans let alone INEOS who are backing him all the way.
From a results perspective you can't ignore how poor Amorim has been during his 10-month period in charge. He has overseen 18 wins and 19 defeats in 46 games across competitions, with a points per game record of 1.37.
That is actually relegation worthy for any manager in English football let alone that of the biggest club in the country. But fans are willing to stand by him as he looks to continue rebuilding United in one of the most difficult times the Red Devils have ever experienced.
What Carragher said about Amorim

Carragher spoke about Amorim and the fact he's still United head coach while presenting The Overlap alongside Paul Scholes. The Liverpool legend suggested that if he wasn't such a good talker or engrossing that he'd already have been dismissed:
“I actually look at it and think if Amorim wasn't so charismatic in the press conference, if he wasn't such a good looking man, he might have actually lost his job a lot earlier.”

While we're not going to comment on Amorim's looks quite like Carragher, we will touch on his charisma. There's no ignoring that the 40-year-old has an aura about him that makes it feel as though he will become a success despite the miserable storm that has taken hold thus far.
Even when United have stumbled in games such as the grim Grimsby defeat, it hasn't overly made him look amateur. He talks such a good game that supporters might soon need to start questioning whether it is all smoke and mirrors and the tide won't turn under his watch.
Amorim has no more excuses
It's funny how United have gone from a robotic like figure in the dugout in Erik ten Hag, a man of very few words, to a poet in Amorim who talks in riddles about every single little detail. But it's his analysis that you can't stop gravitating towards, largely why we agreed with the Marcus Rashford decision.
The time for talking is over now though as Amorim was backed in the summer with four signings. He was handed two proven Premier League attackers in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and one of Europe's most highly sought-after strikers in Benjamin Sesko.
United also landed Senne Lammens on deadline day, a goalkeeper, who even if he is Roy Carroll 2.0, is an upgrade on Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana. Both of them have been utterly disastrous and can take some blame for Amorim's side faltering.
