A member of staff who worked closely with both Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho has taken the side of Jadon Sancho, and it's hard to disagree.
While we don't want to dig up old graves, everybody surely remembers the fallout of Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho. It was a public spat which, in all honesty, has defined Man United's most recent period.
Erik ten Hag was never shy about making his feelings known, even if it meant players leaving the club. It was to Man United's detriment in the end, but at the time, he was respected for sticking to his guns.
Turns out, he may have been wrong with Jadon Sancho.
Erik ten Hag branded Jadon Sancho under an awful light
Jadon Sancho was publicly ostracised by Erik ten Hag, after showing poor commitment levels in training. Or so the Dutch manager said.
In his own words, Erik ten Hag said: "On [Sancho's] performance in training, we didn't select him. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United."
This then resulted in Jadon Sancho being omitted from the first team, not given any chance to prove himself and then sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund, where he originally made a name for himself.
Then, Jadon Sancho went on loan to Chelsea. In truth, it was a fruitful loan spell for the Englishman, who became a European champ while on loan.
Recent comments, though, have come to light which paint Jadon Sancho in a much better light.
Man United's treatment of Jadon Sancho may have been wrong
According to a report from The Mirror, Benni McCarthy, who worked under Erik ten Hag during his time at Man United, said Jadon Sancho was often misread due to being an introverted character.
This led many to believe that Sancho was making no effort with his teammates or in training but actually, it was a result of his personality.
It can certainly be said that, at least from the outside looking in, Jadon Sancho has never struck us as the life of the party. And that's fine, of course, not everybody can be.
If this revelation brought to life by the Mirror is to be believed, then perhaps Erik ten Hag was wrong about Jadon Sancho the entire time.
As of right now, Jadon Sancho is likely leaving Man United yet again this summer.
