Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani is said to be eyeing a marquee signing this summer if his Manchester United takeover is successful, and according to Christian Falk, the sensational signing will be Paris Saint-Germain‘s Kylian Mbappe.

According to reports, Sheikh Jassim is ready to make an audacious move for the French striker, who is considered one of the best players in the world. Mbappe, along with Eduardo Camavinga and Kingsley Coman, could be part of Sheikh Jassim’s plan to revamp the Red Devils if he replaces the Glazers this summer.

Manchester United is looking to bolster its squad, and Mbappe would be a huge statement signing for the club. The Qatari billionaire is hoping to successfully conclude a full takeover bid of the club, which is what most of the Old Trafford faithful want, given their desire to see the current owners, the Glazers, leave. Sheikh Jassim faces competition from British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but he has plans to make a splash at Old Trafford if he takes over.

Kylian Mbappe could be the perfect striker for Manchester United

Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG last year after turning down Real Madrid. However, reports suggest that his two-year deal is actually one year with the option of a further year, which means that he could enter the final year of his PSG contract this summer. Furthermore, PSG is reportedly working on a squad overhaul that could see star names like Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi leave the French capital. With only a few clubs big enough to lure Mbappe, a cash-rich United would certainly be in the running.

Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for some time, but Sheikh Jassim’s takeover bid could provide an opportunity for the Manchester Giants to land the coveted striker. The Frenchman has won multiple Ligue 1 titles and was instrumental in leading PSG to the Champions League final in 2020. His addition to the Red Devils would be a massive boost to their chances of winning titles in the future.
