United in the look for AS Monaco’s captain

Knowing that Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are out of the squad for the next few weeks due to injuries that both players have, and considering that Maguire and Lindelof don’t have the trust of Erik Ten Hag, United is looking for a new centre-back that matches the Dutch manager’s plan. The name that has gone through the table of the United board is the one of Axel Disasi, defender of AS Monaco.

The 25-year-old has played 41 games this season, scoring 6 goals and delivering 4 assists, pretty good stats for a centre-back, that has already been part of the French national squad for the past European classifications. The market value of the actual captain at AS Monaco is about 25 million.

What problems will his arrival solve?

The defence is the most important and weak spot at Manchester United, with names such as Maguire and Lindelof, who leave a lot to desire during their stay at United and never measured up in important situations. The arrival of this young centre-back will bring fresh air, and also a different perspective that could be helpful when the titular duo is not present in the squad list for the game.

How this deal could be a benefit for United?

Disasi is considered a very physical centre-back, because of his 1,90 centimeters height and aggressiveness when recuperating the ball or guarding the other’s team striker, to prevent him from scoring a goal.

Also, his precision when using his head either to clear a ball to take out the danger of his zone or to score goals. This is a benefit because, during this season, there have been few goals scored with the head. Adding to his attributes, he is good when coming out from below playing, helping his team to get ahead and to the long ball for the most vertical attack.
