It was all going so well till the end of the first half. Sevilla had been put to the sword within half an hour and the narrative of the bogey team was in the mud.

However, perfect days for Manchester United rarely happen these days. Two late own goals caused a draw and worries were compounded by injuries to the first-choice CB pairing of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Manchester United injuries list is now even longer at the worst possible time for Erik ten Hag. With every upcoming game like a cup final, Erik ten Hag will have a tough time figuring out solutions for this team.

Here is the Manchester United injuries list after a frustrating 2-2 draw against Sevilla.

Lisandro Martinez- Unknown injury (No expected return date)

Manchester United’s fan favourite CB often looked like the only constant in the chaos at the back during this season. While Raphael Varane’s workload had to be managed due to his injury-prone nature, Martinez was the ever-present force.

However, Martinez looked to have suffered a severe injury against Sevilla. After an innocuous, non-contact moment, Martinez fell to the ground clutching his ankle.

He looked devastated as his Argentine teammates at Sevilla carried him off the pitch where he was laid on a stretcher.

Erik ten Hag calmed early worries of a long-term Achilles injury. However, he stressed that the injury “didn’t look great”.

With further diagnosis to be done, it is still expected that it would be a wonder if Martinez played a part in the remainder of the season.
