Raphael Varane- Unknown injury (Back before season end)

Martinez’s injury just worsened United’s night. By that time, Raphael Varane had already made it to the Manchester United injury list. The Frenchman was substituted at half-time for Harry Maguire due to injury complaints.

Erik ten Hag said post-match that Varane had complained about the issue for the last two weeks. However, he refused to elaborate further, instead stressing the need for more time to do a better diagnosis.

Varane’s injury could be a result of fatigue buildup. Both Martinez and Varane are expected to miss the trip to Nottingham Forest in the PL on April 16.

However, there is more optimism on Varane’s front than Martinez’s.

Marcus Rashford- Groin injury (Back before season end)

Rashford felt something in his groin area during the game against Everton and missed the first leg against Sevilla. Further assessment said that United’s top scorer is expected to be “unavailable for a few games”.

However, Rashford is expected to be back for the end-of-season run-in. Erik ten Hag went as far as to say that there’s a chance he could feature against Sevilla in the second leg.

His availability will be crucial in that one as Bruno Fernandes is set to miss out due to his suspension on account of the accumulation of yellow cards. Fernandes got booked for handling a close-range shot.
