What happened to Donny Van de Beek?
Donny Van de Beek has been out of Manchester United’s plan for the rest of the season; all this happened because of a knee injury in the game against Bournemouth on the 3 of January, which kept him away from the fields, for the remainder of the season.
The Dutch coach talks about the player’s injury and expresses his feeling about the situation the Dutch player is being through:
"“The whole team is with him. It’s terrible when in the middle of the season a bad start causes you an injury. It’s very sad and we all feel sorry for him,” added the Dutch coach."
Days ago, there is a video on social media, where we can see Van de Beek doing some training with a football ball, and showing the improvement his been having regards his injury.
Before the injury, the Dutch player wasn’t having the minutes and the importance that expected, when he sign the contract in September 2020. This is because, in the past 3 years since he sign as a United player, he has only disputed 67 games in total, scoring 3 goals and delivering only 2 assists, in all his years in Manchester United.
What will happen when he comes back from his injury?
The competition in the United’s midfield is very hard, not only because of the number of players there is, but also because of the level, having players, such as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Eriksen, among others. He will struggle like before the injury, into getting the minutes he deserves, but with some movements in the next transfer window, he could make a spot in the team.
There is another club interested in Van de Beek?
United fans want Donny to have his chance at United, but recently there is a new rumour that linked the midfielder with his former team, Ajax. The Red Devils have set a price point for Donny, which is around 25 million dollars, but it is unclear if the former champion of the Eredivise is ready to pay such a high value, for a player that hasn’t had too many minutes. Remembering that the market value of the former Ajax player is about 17 million dollars.
Would you give Van de Beek the minutes he deserve or you would put him into the transfer list?
