Erik ten Hag is facing a midfield crisis at Manchester United with both Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek out injured. While the Brazilian partnership of Fred and Casemiro has played a great part in the club’s recent success, the lack of depth could pose a threat to their ambitions of achieving a quadruple this season.

The Dutch boss did bring in Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich to add to the squad’s depth but he is well aware that he requires a lot more to compete in the Champions League next season.

Ajax youngster wants to join Manchester United

While many midfielders have been shortlisted by Ten Hag as potential transfer targets, Football Insider report that Ajax starlet Mohammed Kudus is keen on joining the former Ajax boss at Old Trafford.

The report claims that the Premier League giants have made contact in order to secure the 22-year-old in the summer but with a contract with the Eredivisie giants until 2025, the deal is said to cost United somewhere in the range of £48 million.

Ten Hag is strongly considering a reunion with the Ghana international, who has been in great form this season scoring 16 goals and providing 3 assists in 32 appearances, with the report claiming the player himself is keen on moving this summer.

The 22-year-old nearly joined Everton last summer but the deal eventually fell apart and the youngster wants another chance of joining the Premier League. Ten Hag has already poached his former club for both Lisandro Martinez and Antony, and could be close to adding Kudus as well.

Having said that, The Times reported last summer that Ajax and their former coach have an unofficial agreement in place that might prevent the Dutch manager from signing any more players from his former side.
