Manchester United are in desperate need of a prolific striker as the long-term injury to Anthony Martial forced the club into signing Wout Weghorst on a loan deal during the winter transfer window. On top of that, winger Marcus Rashford had to switch positions to a more central role, and while the 25-year-old has been on incredible form this season scoring 25 goals and providing 9 assists in 42 games across all competitions, the lack of an additional goalscorer could prove problematic for next season.
Manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly shortlisted four strikers for the summer transfer window with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane named the two favourites. Meanwhile, AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham and RB Salzburg starlet Benjamin Sesko remain as alternatives.
Manchester United ready £106 million bid for Eintracht Frankfurt forward
German publication BILD report that the Red Devils are keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani this summer and are preparing a hefty transfer sum of £106 million.
The 24-year-old has been on tremendous form this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 14 assists in 34 appearances across all competition for the German club. After only joining Frankfurt last summer from Nantes on a free transfer and signing a contract until 2027 with the Bundesliga side, the striker is already linked with an exit.
Eintracht are reportedly prepared to sell their superstar if an offer exceeding £100 million knocks at their doorstep this summer with Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in the French international. While competing with the Ligue 1 giants in terms of transfer fee could prove to be difficult, United are prepared to be the first to make contact in the hopes of securing the goalscorer.
