Manchester United are on verge of getting new owners that are prepared to spend big in the summer transfer window in order to win the fans over. Manager Erik ten Hag has made it clear that he is looking to reinforce his squad in multiple positions with the signing of a centre-back, midfielder, and centre-forward made the priorities.
Recent reports revealed that four strikers have been shortlisted by the Red Devils with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane, AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, and RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko all made summer targets.
While Osimhen and Kane remain the two favourites to join the Premier League giants in the summer, former defender Rio Ferdinand has given his personal preference for the perfect striker for United.
Rio Ferdinand urges Kylian Mbappe to join Manchester United
Despite extending his stay at Parc des Princes until 2025, the French international remains linked with an exit with Real Madrid named the favourite destination.
United legend Rio Ferdinand, however, believes that Mbappe must leave Paris in order to win European glory and would like to see the superstar at Old Trafford.
"“He’s the most devastating player to watch on the planet right now. I love watching him. I think to go to the next level, he needs to go to a more competitive league. I think as much as he’s been great for PSG and they’ve been great for him, he’s won the World Cup and now he’ll want to win the Champions League and I don’t see that happening there,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.“[He should move to] Man United! The Premier League is the best, most entertaining league in the world, the most competitive league in the world 100%. I’d love to see him come here – but nowhere else but Man United if he comes to England!”"
