Manchester United have made the signing of a midfielder a top priority for the summer transfer window. Coach Erik ten Hag is struggling with a lack of depth in his squad as the long-term injuries to Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek left only Scott McTominay as a rotational option.

The Dutch boss has made it clear that he prefers the Brazilian pairing of Casemiro and Fred with Bruno Fernandes playing ahead of them as the attacking midfielder. The lack of substitutes forced the former Ajax manager into signing Marcel Sabitzer on a loan deal from Bayern Munich to give his squad the much-needed depth for this season.

While the Austrian international is yet to settle in at Old Trafford, Ten Hag has already decided to sign midfield reinforcements in the summer. Both Barcelona‘s Frenkie de Jong and Borussia Dortmund‘s Jude Bellingham were named the two favourites but a new player has now entered the shortlist.

Manchester United ready €130m bid for Real Madrid starlet

Fichajes reports that the Red Devils are preparing a hefty €130 million offer for Real Madrid starlet Eduardo Camavinga. The La Liga giants are currently building for the future with superstars Luka Modric and Toni Kross soon to be permanently replaced by youngsters like Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Aurélien Tchouameni.

Since losing Casemiro to United, Camavinga has secured himself a prominent role under Carlo Ancelotti, becoming one of their best performers this season. The Spanish side are reportedly not ready to lose their promising talent and will not consider any offers for this summer.

With a contract running until 2027, Los Blancos are under no pressure and thus Ten Hag might need to consider other talented midfielders from the market for any potential summer signings.
