Manchester United eye S. L. Benfica Starlet
Sport Witness (via A Bola on Sunday) reported that the Manchester giants are keen on signing Goncalo Ramos in the summer window. The 21-year-old has been in great form for the Portuguese side Benfica, scoring 21 goals and providing 8 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.
Currently sitting first in the league, coach Roger Schmidt is delighted with the youngster’s form and does not wish to see him leave this summer, especially with a contract that runs until 2026. Though the player has a release clause, United will have to pay €120m to acquire the youngster’s services.
While the reports suggest that a potential deal is inevitable, both Osimhen and Kane would prove to be better transfer targets for the summer, especially considering their current form and the price tag set by Benfica. Napoli are reportedly prepared to part ways with their superstar for £100 million with Spur’s Harry Kane said to be priced similarly.
It remains to be seen which striker joins United in the summer but Ten Hag would like to keep all his options open before finalizing his decision.
