After taking over Twitter, Elon Musk is reportedly monitoring the Manchester United takeover situation closely. Daily Mail reports that sources indicate that the second richest man in the world, accordion to Forbes, is thinking of making a bid for the Red Devils.
With Friday’s deadline for all bids approaching, multiple names have been linked with replacing the Glazer family at Old Trafford. Multiple parties from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and United States of America have shown interest in the takeover but none sparked a global interest like Elon Musk did when he tweeted “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome” in August 2022.

While Musk later revealed he was only joking, the £157billion net-worth business magnate could very well make a bid by Friday to acquire the Premier League giants given his love for the team as he later revealed that Man Utd was his favorite team as a child.
The Glazers are looking to secure a deal worth £6 billion for the English giants but many believe the true value for United would be more given the club is valued at around £4.5 billion with another £2 billion needed to improve the stadium. However, it is yet to be known how much the individual parties are planning to bid.
Currently, a group of individual investors from Qatar are reportedly planning their bid which they believe to be the strongest among the interested parties. Britain’s own, Jim Ratcliffe, is also interested in bidding for his favorite team and with a reported 2018 fortune of £21 billion, he remains the richest man in England. While it remains to be seen who will make an official bid for Manchester United, Elon Musk’s entry in the bidding war would definitely be a game changer.
