Manchester United find themselves in a very difficult position right now and it does not look like things are going to get any easier for them, as they are set to face Manchester City next. Pep Guardiola’s side will be desperate for a result as well, as they have seen their lead reduce in recent weeks and a title race is very much on with Liverpool. On the other hand, the Red Devils are looking to finish in the top four.

Now, based on current form or on recent years, Manchester City are the clear favourites here. But then, one can never count out Manchester United.

Despite the Red Devils being nowhere near their best since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, their record in the Manchester Derby has not been the worst, considering how dominant the Citizens have been for a while.

And with Manchester United having some big game players in their ranks, they have the potential to cause an upset this weekend.

Manchester United: 3 key players vs Manchester City

Here are three Manchester United players who could be key for the Red Devils in their upcoming game against Manchester City:

It is safe to say that Ronaldo has not been as good as Manchester United fans would have hoped, when he completed a return to the Theatre of Dreams, more than a decade after leaving to join Real Madrid.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances. While not bad, one would expect more from one of the greatest of all-time.

There is no doubt though that Ronaldo is a big game player and has a penchant for rising to the occasion. Hopefully, the Portuguese superstar will be able to do that this time. Otherwise, Manchester United’s hopes could be slim when the two Premier League giants meet this weekend.
