Maguire was a solid figure at the back for Manchester United last season, as it had started to look like the club had made the right decision by signing him from Leicester City in a world record transfer deal.

It is safe to say that the Manchester United captain’s performances have taken a step back this season and he has struggled for most of the campaign to find any sort of consistency.

But when Manchester United come up against their cross-town rivals this weekend, expect Maguire to be in the starting XI.

Thus, it will be important that Maguire rises to the occasion and puts in a good performance against the Premier League leaders and defending champions.

It must be pointed out that Manchester United have certainly improved at the back in recent times and have kept clean sheets much more often than they were earlier in the campaign, under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Jadon Sancho

Sancho arrived at Manchester United with a lot of expectations in the summer but it is safe to say that he found the going tough in his first few months at the club.

One of the most exciting wingers in the world during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho struggled to effect games in a Manchester United shirt. That has changed in recent weeks though and he seems to be improving with every performance.

Not only has his output improved, both in terms of goals and assists, but so have his performances, and now, it looks like he can be a key player for the club for years to come.

It will be interesting to see though, how he does against world-class opposition like Manchester City. Interestingly, he had been left on the bench the last time these two clubs had met.
