Manchester United would have come into the game against Brighton & Hove Albion knowing that this was a huge match for them and a lot was riding on the result on the night. The Red Devils had dropped points against both Burnley and Southampton, which had left them in a difficult spot in the top four race and it is safe to say that they needed all three against Graham Potter’s side.

On this occasion, Ralf Rangnick’s side got the job done with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, two players who have struggled for form in recent times, getting their names on the scoresheet as Manchester United sealed a 2-0 win against the Seagulls.

While not a perfect performance, the fans will be delighted with the result. Brighton & Hove Albion have been great this season.

And if they had gotten a win on this occasion, they might very well have put themselves in top four contention as well.

Ronaldo has not been at his best this season, especially following the arrival of Rangnick as the club’s interim manager. And recently, he had been going through a dry spell in front of goal as well.

That ended against The Seagulls as Ronaldo scored a good goal to hand Manchester United the lead on the night.

It must have been a feeling of relief for the Portuguese superstar, as things have not been going his way in recent weeks. Manchester United fans will be hoping though that this is the start of a good run of form for him and if they are to finish in the top four this season, they will definitely need Ronaldo to be hitting the back of the net consistently.
