Marcus Rashford proves his worth

While Rashford has without doubt been one of Manchester United’s most important players in recent years and is already a senior member of the squad, things have not looked great for the English international in recent times.

Rashford made a bright start after his return from injury but would soon fade away badly to the point where he was no longer a regular in the starting XI for the Red Devils.

But the questions about his form and importance appear to be bringing the best out of the Manchester United star.

He found the back of the net against Brentford and then cropped up with the winner against West Ham United.

Both have proven to be important goals for Manchester United and as a result, Rashford is starting to prove his worth to this side once again.

He will have to go on a longer run of good performances though before one can declare that Rashford is back on top form.

Manchester United are improving defensively

Defence has been one of Manchester United’s biggest weaknesses this season but it has appeared that they have improved at the back significantly since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager.

They are keeping clean sheets much more regularly than they were earlier on in the campaign and giving away a far lesser number of goals as well.

A change in manager, system, the improvement of some of the defenders and the incredible form of David de Gea in goal have all combined to do the trick for Manchester United’s backline.

Now, the most important thing is for the Red Devils to carry on in this fashion. If the club are to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, they will need their defence to stand resolutely against tough opponents, like they did against West Ham United.
