With the international break now over, its time for Manchester United to get back to business. The fixture list takes the Red Devils on an away trip to visit Watford at Vicarage Road. The Hornets await Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who had tasted a 2-0 defeat the last time they had visited the stadium, back in 2019.

Manchester United will need to bounce back from their Derby day defeat to Manchester City before the international break and the manager will hope to put things right when the Red Devils travel south.

Solskjaer’s side have toyed with the idea of three at the back, which has yielded mixed results till now. The dominant win over Tottenham Hotspur seemed to have been a massive boost. It was arguably the team’s best performance of the season till now.

Solskjaer continued with the system in the defeat to Manchester City though, which left a lot of questions unanswered. The 3-4-1-2 system had left the Red Devils wide open in certain areas of the pitch and they might not have the right players to deploy it at the moment, with the likes of Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani struggling with injuries. In between, there was the draw against Atalanta as well. With this in mind, one could expect the manage to revert and line-up in a more familiar 4-2-3-1 when they face Watford.

There is very little doubt that the Spaniard will start In goal, as he has been magnificent so far in this campaign. His saves during the Manchester City match kept the score down to 2-0. Otherwise, things could have ended up much worse for the Red Devils.
