A lot has happened recently at Old Trafford, with Manchester United bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton over the course of the summer transfer window. It goes without saying that the Portuguese legend was the star signing for the Red Devils as he sealed a dream return to the Theatre of Dreams.

But Varane has been an excellent addition for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as well. Defence has been viewed as an area of weakness in this team for a while but with the arrival of the French World Cup winner, it could prove to be one of their biggest strengths moving forward.

But the signing of Varane is expected to reduce the playing time of some other defenders at the club. Axel Tuanzebe is currently on his third loan spell at Aston Villa, and appears to be looking for a permanent Old Trafford exit.

The defender has shown a lot of potential while playing for Manchester United over the years but looking at the current squad, it is clear that it will be difficult for the 23-year-old to break into the starting XI. And as reported by The Sun, Tuanzebe wants to make his move to Aston Villa a permanent one.

Tuanzebe has been at Manchester United for a long time, having joined the club at the age of eight and has captained the Red Devils at multiple youth levels as well as the senior team.

There is no doubt about his incredible potential. We saw how he good he can be in the 2-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last season. But despite that, it is hard to see him breaking into Manchester United’s starting XI anytime in the near future considering the incredible depth that the club have at centre-back right now.

As a result, a move away from Old Trafford might potentially be the right decision for Tuanzebe at this stage of his career.
