Manchester United will be looking to win their first piece of silverware in over four seasons this time around. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have certainly made a promising start to their campaign with a 5-1 win vs Leeds United.

There a lot of hopes and expectations this season, with the club making some tremendous signings this summer. The long-time pursuit for Jadon Sancho finally came to an end, with the Red Devils signing him from Borussia Dortmund.

Four-time UEFA Champions League winner, Raphael Varane, has also joined the club. The French World Cup winner is expected to partner Harry Maguire in the heart of the defence, and will bring tons of experience with him.

Apart from that, Tom Heaton has also arrived at Old Trafford. And you also have to consider the improvement that some of the younger players must have made with last season under their belt. After finishing second in the Premier League last season, Manchester United should be considered title contenders this time around.

David de Gea

David de Gea was arguably Manchester United’s best player over the past decade. While the club struggled to return to the top of English football in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, it was the Spaniard who still shined on a number of occasions and looked like the best goalkeeper on the planet at the top of his game.

However, the 30-year-old has not been at his best for a while now and with Dean Henderson at the club right now, he has some genuine competition for the first-team gloves.

Towards the end of the previous campaign, it looked like it was the English goalkeeper who was ahead of De Gea in the pecking order. Many even expected to see the Spaniard leave this summer. But that has not happened. And it will be interesting to see how he performs this time around.
