James Tavernier could be an interesting option for Manchester United. Currently playing under Steven Gerrard, the Rangers captain led the Scottish giants to their first Scottish Premiership title after ten years last season.

In a campaign that saw him produce 19 goals and 16 assists from 46 appearances across all competitions according to stats from Transfermarkt, Tavernier was easily the best right-back and one of the best players in Scotland.

As reported by 90 Min in June, Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs who have been impressed with Tavernier.

The 29-year-old started the new season right where he had left off. In the opening game of the Premiership 2021/22 campaign, he came up with two assists. Thus, a move for someone like Tavernier could certainly be interesting.

While currently the captain of Gerrard’s side and one of their most important players, you have to feel that a move could be done for the right offer. And it is safe to say that Tavernier would provide Solskjaer with a very different option to Wan-Bissaka.

While Wan-Bissaka is known for his incredible defensive abilities, he can further improve the attacking side of his game. On the other hand, it is in the final third that Tavernier shines, which is clear to see from his incredible 35 goal contributions last season from right-back, although it must be pointed out that he is the Rangers’ penalty taker.

Thus, if the Red Devils are able to sign the right-back, he might turn out to be a solid addition to the squad. Tavernier has played for Newcastle United in the Premier League in the past as well.
