Manchester United might need to sign a right-back this summer. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been the regular starter there since joining the Red Devils back in 2019. But there does not appear to be much depth beyond him at the moment.

Since moving to Old Trafford, he has become a fan favourite and one of the first names on the team sheet for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he played 4709 minutes of football across all competitions last season.

As a result, Solskjaer could certainly do with another option at right-back with both Diogo Dalot and Brandon Williams being linked with moves away from the club, either on loan or on permanent basis.

Thus, signing a new right-back this summer might be important for the club and there are certainly a few players that they should consider making a move for.

Max Aarons has been on Manchester United’s radar for years now. Aarons caught the eye of the football world while playing for Norwich City in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, in what was his first season in the top-tier of English football.

His performances managed to catch the eye of several clubs, including Manchester United. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 36 appearances in the Premier League that season, providing a couple of assists.

Many would have expected him to make a move elsewhere after that but the player has stayed on at Norwich City, developing even further there.

The Canaries are set to make their return to the Premier League this season after only a season in the Championship following their relegation in 2019/20, with Aarons playing an integral part in their promotion-winning campaign last season. Besides Manchester United, several other clubs have been linked with the right-back in recent times.

It remains to be seen if he ends up leaving Norwich City this summer. Still 21 years of age though, Aarons already has some solid experience under his belt and can be a brilliant right-back for years to come.
