Liverpool leading race for Manchester United transfer target
Since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in 2009, the Red Devils have never truly found a fitting replacement for the Portuguese phenomenon. The raw pace, sheer agility, famous stepovers, and flamboyant skills are all things that the fans have wanted in a winger all these years. And the wait is still on.
Considered one of the best youngsters in modern football, Jadon Sancho is considered to be the one who is capable of ending that wait. The club had tried to bring him to Old Trafford last summer but a move failed to materialise as it is believed that Borussia Dortmund were looking for a €120 million transfer fee back then.
With a year gone, the Red Devils are believed to still hold a keen interest in the Englishman. But interestingly, he could be available for a transfer fee of around €85 million to €90 million this summer. And despite Chelsea being linked with him as well, the 21-year-old appears to favour a move to Old Trafford.
But what if the club fail to get the deal over the line this time as well? In that case, Leeds United’s Raphinha could be someone that the Red Devils turn towards.
Liverpool ahead of Manchester United in the transfer race for Raphinha
Liverpool are leading Manchester United and Manchester City in the race for the Leeds United star, as tweeted out by journalist Gianluigi Longari:

Manchester United and Liverpool are believed to be both interested in Raphinha as well as Manchester City, who won the Double last season but lost out in the Champions League final to Chelsea. At this point of time though, it does look like Sancho is the Red Devils’ primary target when it comes to signing a winger.
Raphinha joined Leeds United last summer from Rennes for a transfer fee believed to be around £17 million. In his first season in the Premier League, he scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists in 30 appearances according to stats from Transfermarkt.
Raphinha has certainly caught the eye of clubs around the country with his brilliant performances but it looks like Leeds United want to keep him, which would make any transfer move in the summer difficult.
