Manchester United are expected to make a few waves in the upcoming summer transfer window. But it looks like Arsenal could end up signing a player that they have been linked with in the recent past.
The Red Devils might need to sign a central midfielder this summer if Matic ends up leaving the club as he is being linked with a move to AS Roma, who will be managed by Jose Mourinho next season.
But it is not one of the positions in need of immediate reinforcements or a first-team starter with Fred and Scott McTominay being Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice pairing there. Positions like centre-back, right-wing and striker might be ahead in the pecking order when it comes to the club’s summer wishlist.
But even then, a club like Manchester United is always expected to have multiple players vying for one position in the team and thus, it would not be surprising to see them sign a central midfielder this summer.

Arsenal now appear to be favourites for the Manchester United target
The Red Devils have been linked with several names in recent months, with Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma being one of them. As reported by ESPN several months back, the Red Devils were one of the clubs keeping tabs on the player.
But as reported by Daily Star, Arsenal believe they are close to winning the race for the signature of the 24-year-old midfielder. It is believed that Brighton & Hove Albion are looking for a transfer fee in the region of £30 million for Bissouma.
Signed in 2018 from Lille, Bissouma has shown great promise in the Premier League. He has been especially impressive for his performances in the big games.
Thus, it is not hard to see why he is being linked with some of the best teams in the Premier League and could be on the move this summer.
