The names of Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United have been linked together over the course of the last few transfer windows.

They have had been in negotiations in recent times regarding a possible deal for Jadon Sancho. While Borussia Dortmund have also managed to sign a few of Manchester United’s rumoured targets in the recent past. To name a few, Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham come to mind.

The Red Devils are currently one of the favourites to win this season’s Europa League and could very well finish the Premier League season in 2nd position. And on the back of what is turning into a successful season, expectations will be even higher next time around. Higher expectations, of course, bring extra pressure to succeed.

As a result, Manchester United are expected to try and improve the squad even further this summer. And Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back, Ben White, is believed to someone that they are interested in signing to strengthen their defence.

Borussia Dortmund linked with the Manchester United target

As reported by The Sun, Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for White. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the young centre-back.

Brighton and Hove Albion are expected to demand a transfer fee of about £35 million for the defender and are believed to have turned down three bids from Leeds United last summer, with the final offer believed to be around £25 million.

He has had a decent campaign, making 35 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion and featuring for 3105 minutes in all competitions according to stats from Transfermarkt. But it was on a loan spell at Leeds United that he first made a name for himself.

Manchester United have been linked with the 23-year-old defender for quite some time now. And if the Red Devils are able to sign him, he is expected to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of their defence.

But it does not look like it will be easy to sign him with the number of top European clubs being linked with a move for White.
