Manchester United keep getting linked with new players every day. Initially it had looked like the club would go after a centre-back and a defensive midfielder in the summer but now they have been linked with players in several other positions.

Therefore, the general feeling is that signing a versatile individual, who possesses the ability to play in different positions, could be a solid way to fill a number of gaps in the current squad.

The Red Devils have signed some brilliant players over the past couple of years. The majority of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s signings have played a part in the gradual development that Manchester United have experienced over the last two years or so.

And the next player the club could be eyeing is RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku.

Manchester United reportedly want Christopher Nkunku

The Red Devils are interested in Nkunku, as reported by Fussball Transfers. However, they are not the only Premier League club interested in the player, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal also being linked with a summer move.

This season, Nkunku has caught the eye of some of the biggest sides in Europe. And a big reason for that will definitely be his versatility as he is capable of playing in a number of different positions.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 23-year-old has scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for RB Leipzig this season and it is not hard to see why there appears to be significant interest in acquiring his services.

Signing him won’t definitely be easy though. As already mentioned, a number of Premier League clubs are also interested in the youngster and on top of that, his contract with RB Leipzig runs till the summer of 2024, meaning they will not be under any pressure to let him leave in the near future.
